The Children’s Centre’s ‘Make a Will’ initiative raised £990 this year thanks to support from law firm Dougherty Quinn.
For the seventh year in a row, DQ’s legal experts gave up their professional time to write simple wills for free in exchange for participants making a set donation to the charity. Since it began in 2006 the scheme has raised around £7,000 to fund The Children’s Centre’s services for children and families across the island.
Annemarie Hughes, of DQ, said: ‘This initiative is not only a great way to support a local charity such as The Children’s Centre, but also serves as a useful reminder of the benefits of having a will in place.’
