MAJOR road and footway works are planned to take place in Ramsey in the new year.
The Department of Infrastructure is to reconstruct the carriageway and the footways in Lezayre Road between Parliament Square and Bircham Avenue.
This work will take place in phases to maintain property access, but due to the narrow width of the road, it will be closed to through traffic, with diverted traffic using Bircham Avenue and Station Road.
As Lezayre Road is a main route for pedestrians to and from school, a footway route will be maintained. It is anticipated that these works will last for approximately four months.
The department will issue further information as these works progress and would like to thank members of the public and businesses in advance for their patience and co-operation. Anyone with queries can phone 850000.
