There are some great prizes on offer for whoever is chosen as the queen of Castletown Festival, which is 60 this year.
The selection takes place on Sunday, May 15 at the festival’s ‘Picnic in The Park and Sports Day’, which is in Poulsom Park, Castletown and starts at 1pm.
The competition is only open to girls aged 13 to 18 years (inc) who reside permanently in Castletown or Derbyhaven.
To enter, girls need to turn up at the festival stage in Poulsom Park and collect an entry form at 2pm.
The selection will take place at around 2.45pm on the stage.
Tony Brown, chairman of the festival said: ‘This year is a special year as it is the festival’s 60th anniversary. We have some really fabulous prizes for the girl selected as our festival queen for 2016.
We are delighted to receive the support of Sure (IOM) again this year, who have provided a Pixi 3 smartphone and tablet bundle for the girl selected.
‘Our thanks also go to Belles and Bows of Castletown for providing the queen’s ceremonial dress, which she receives as a prize to keep.’
‘Thanks also goes to our other main sponsor for the day, café bar Two-Six Derbyhaven.’
The queen also receives £50 as part of the prize.
