THE steam railway is to remain shut for the rest of the day.
The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure re-opened the railway as a way for people from the south of the island to get to Douglas during the bus strike.
But parts of the line have flooded and it was closed this morning.
The MER continues to operate between Laxey and Ramsey, with a replacement bus service operating between Derby Castle and Laxey.
Flooding and road closures continue to affect Bus Vannin’s skeleton service.
A DCCL spokesman said that buses were operating ‘as far as possible.’
Those wishing to travel can obtain further information from staff at Lord Street or from the Welcome Centre on 662525.
Night Owl services will operate to timetable tonight.
