A ‘Blues and Food’ evening will be held on Saturday, April 16 to raise funds for the Hub, the community project based in Port Erin which provides activities to alleviate loneliness and isolation.
The entertainment is provided by talented young singer songwriter Hamish Faragher and Stagehands.
Dinner will also be served, the food prepared by Mark Hickey, and the main course is a choice of chicken breast or sirloin steak.
The event is organised by Port St Mary resident Dickie Best, a keen supporter of the Hub, who said: ‘Please remember, when we get older we still deserve some love and care, the Hub can provide this, so all our efforts will help a great deal.’
Hub co-ordinator Janet Bridle said: ‘We are so delighted that Dickie Best has taken the time out of his very busy schedule to organise an evening of musical entertainment and culinary delights in aid of funds for the Hub.’
The event is from 7.30pm to 11pm at Rowany Golf Club, Port Erin; tickets, at £25, are available from the golf club or the Hub, Thie Rosien, Four Roads.
The money raised will be used to continue providing the variety of activities on offer at the Hub, which are designed to bring people together to make friends, learn new skills and share old ones.
