CAMRA members are being given the opportunity to decide the future of the the campaigning organisation.

Two special sessions are to be held at the Villa Marina in Douglas prior to tomorrow’s (Thursday) opening of this year’s beer festival.

The remit is to decide whether the group’s emphasis should change focus following the huge renaissance enjoyed by real ale in recent years.

CAMRA founder member Michael Hardman said: ‘We want to seek your opinions about whom CAMRA should represent and about the activities we should be conducting now and in the future, given the unprecedented changes that have been taking place in the brewing industry and licensed trade in recent years.’

Referred to as the CAMRA Revitalisation Meetings, they will take place at 3.30pm and 6.30pm in the Noble’s Suite at the Villa Marina.

CAMRA members will also have chance to complete a postal or online questionnaire.
