The Isle of Man Government’s new Education Council has been appointed.
The body advises the Department of Education and Children, meeting formally each school term.
Its members sit on the governing bodies of schools and the Isle of Man College of Further and Higher Education.
Members are appointed for a three-year period.
With effect from January 1, its membership now consists of Jennifer Pendree, Barbara Brereton, Robin Turton, Ray Smith, Steven Bevan, Louise Strickett, Tracey Martin and Margaret Mansfield, who are retiring members who are reappointed, and Diane Brown and Andrew Cole, who are new members.
Tim Crookall MLC, Minister for Education and Children, has recorded his thanks to retiring members and unsuccessful applicants.
In November, Tynwald approved a reduction in the size of the Education Council from 15 to a maximum of 10.
