Air accident investigators are looking into a serious incident that took place at Ronaldsway airport just before Christmas.
A Flybe service from Manchester was landing at the airport on December 22 when its tail made contact with the runway surface.
Flight BE821, which was operated on behalf of Flybe by Stobart Air, had 70 people on board.
The ATR aircraft sustained minor damage when its tail scraped the runway surface on landing. But it continued without further incident and taxied safely to the apron.
The aircraft remained on the ground for 13 hours before resuming service.
An investigation is being carried out by the UK-based Air Accidents Investigation Branch which has rated the incident as ‘serious’.
