A range of events are being held in and around Dalby to celebrate Christmas over the next couple of weeks.
‘Singing in the Villages’ will take place tomorrow (Wednesday) in Glen Maye and Thursday in Dalby and will see carollers visiting residents from 6pm each night.
All money raised will be donated the Unicef South Sudan Crisis Appeal.
On Friday, The Nativity BBC series, lasting around two hours, will be screened at Dalby schoolrooms from 6pm. Refreshments will be provided but take your own wine/beer. Donations will be taken to cover costs.
A community carol singing event will be held in Dalby schoolrooms on Sunday, 5.30pm to 6.30pm. Hot punch and mince pies will be served as the Christmas story is told in song and readings.
On Christmas Eve, a children’s crib service will take place at 6pm at St James’ Church, and will last for around 45 minutes.
Organisers describe the service as a ‘simple candle-lit gathering for any passing angels or shepherds, young children and the young at heart, with carols and an acted story’.
This will be followed later in the evening with a candlelit communion starting at 11.30pm. The communion will be led by Canon Kelly while singer Michelle Jamieson will perform.
