CASTLETOWN switches on its Christmas tree lights on Saturday, December 8.
Celebrations begin at 2pm, with recitals by Victoria Primary Road school choir, Ballasalla Primary school at 2.30pm, Castletown Metropolitan Silver Band at 3.05pm and 4.35pm, Castle Rushen High School music group at 3.30pm and choral group at 4pm.
Prayers to celebrate Christmas will be led by the clergy. Father Christmas will be in his grotto for children under age 11. If wet, there will be story time in the library and drawing in the civic centre. There will also be a treasure hunt around the town, organised by local traders.
The car park off Farrant’s Way, Castletown, will be free of charge on December 8, 15 and 22. Commissioners’ clerk Kevin Weir thanked Dandara, which owns the car park, for its ‘generous offer’.
