A woman whose dog bit a child in Douglas on Sunday has come forward to the police.

Police said the investigation was now progressing.
But a spokesman added: ‘We would like to still encourage witnesses to make themselves known though and would like to reassure the community that the child in question is not seriously injured and is well.’
He continued: ‘The police would request that members of the public do not speculate and apportion blame.
‘The investigation will be conducted without bias and with an open mind.
