Young telecoms entrepreneur and Apprentice TV star Stuart Baggs has been found dead.

Police were called to the home of the BlueWave Communications boss in the Spectrum Apartments on Central Promenade, Douglas, at 9am this morning following reports that a body had been found.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Isle of Man Newspapers had interviewed Mr Baggs on the day of his 27th birthday last Thursday about the launch of BlueWave’s landline-free Superfast 4G Home Broadband, a product he said would revolutionise communications in the island.

He appeared on the BBC’s The Apprentice Show in 2010 when he become something of a legend for his outspoken one-liners.

Stuart was back on TV last October when he appeared as a contestant in Channel 4’s Come Dine With Me show which was filmed in the island.

A statement from the force reads: ‘Police can now confirm that the man is Stuart Mark Alden Baggs, 27 years of age.

‘Police confirm that at this time there is nothing obvious to indicate the cause of his untimely death and enquiries will continue.

The police request that consideration is given to the privacy of the family and friends at this difficult time.’

When he was interviewed last week Stuart spoke excitedly about the new 4G home service which won’t need a landline.

‘This is going to revolutionise the Isle of Man, the winners will be the people of the Isle of Man,’ he said.

‘We are going to give everybody access to superfast broadband and we will get to every corner of the Isle of Man eventually, don’t get me wrong. And once customers come on board they won’t ever want to leave us.’

Asked about his working hours, he said: ‘I work, as my hair will tell you, at least 18 hours a day. I sleep for four hours religiously, I would not have it any other way, like Margaret Thatcher’.

He added that work ‘gives me a buzz but I always feel there is more to do. ‘As to the future we are already working on that,’ he said.
