Chris Gray is a local singer-songwriter that has kept himself very much in the limelight over the last year or so.
He’s gone from forming what would become the now popular Songs From The Sofa acoustic sessions that showcase the various acoustic talents of the island to writing and recording his debut album and signing a deal with UK based label Sunn Creative.
The aforementioned debut album Diamonds In Your Tree has been gathering great reviews since its release in April.
Subsequent radio plays including appearances on Dermot O’Leary’s BBC Radio 2 show and Robert Elms’ Show on BBC London and various high profile support slots have done well in promoting Chris and his work to a wider audience.
Following his most recent show last weekend in Scotland at the Bute Festival, held on the Isle of Bute, Chris returns to home shores for an appearance at Amber in Douglas on Saturday night.
Playing tracks from the Diamonds In Your Tree album plus assorted pieces from his other release namely the Don’t Lose Your Way EP, also released on Sunn Creative, Chris will no doubt show why he’s making some excellent headway in promoting his work both here on the island and further afield.
Support for this show comes from Danny Looney, a relative newcomer to the acoustic circuit in comparison, however someone also well worth checking out.
The doors for this free show open at 8pm and then Danny kicks off the event just after 9pm.

No live dates are on the horizon at the moment for the band that features Paul Salisbury (vocals/guitar), Martyn Cain (bass) and Ben O’Hare (drums/samples).
The band did however resurface briefly last weekend to shoot a video with Manx based music promotion and production company Waveyhead.
